by Andrew Forrest Baker (Author)

We Tremble As We Sink features ten short stories including: "'Cross the Line" - A first person narrative examining what happens when the marriage bed goes cold and the state line is so close by; "If Anyone Hears My Voice" - A religious tale of racism and righteousness; and "Our House Is Sound" - A harrowing story of two children left to their own devices amidst the hounding heat of the south Georgia sun. With a backdrop of the Okefenokee Swamp of South Georgia, this collection of Southern Gothic Short Stories explores notions of man, nature, family, and the home.

Author Biography

Andrew Forrest Baker is interested in writing that challenges the notions of what fiction can and should do, while nodding toward the dime store paperback that tops every guilty pleasure list. A striking combination of pop, grit, and philosophy, Baker's work is surprising, sentimental, and often educational. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he has published one novel and two collection of short stories.
