Victims of War is the combination of two books about holocaust survivors of World War II. The first book is a spellbinding set of short stories from those who witnessed the he fall of fascist Hungary to the Russian army. The book contains true events experienced by the author plus factual and dramatized versions of other people's war time experiences. The second book, Dr. Mengele the Angel of Death, is the story of man haunted by his past as a prisoner and patient of the notorious Dr. Mengele. It also contains a description of Joseph Stalin's disastrous early war time strategy which nearly cost him the war.
Fred Tessler was born in Des Hungary in 1922, one of 7 children he endured the horrors of World War II working as slave labour under the Hungarian fascists. He was inspired to write Victims of War based on his experiences during this time. The events described in the book left a profound mark on him and set the future course of his life. Today he lives in Sydney Australia with his wife who also lived in Hungary during the war. Together they have 3 children. He is an active writer, writing a range of fiction, children's and health books.
