Toronto: 2009. The civil war in Sri Lanka comes to an end and Tamils take to the streets en masse, occupying the downtown core. Neither Toronto nor the rest of Canada has seen the like. Daniel, an acclimatized Canadian, has built a life here as a schoolteacher. Niranjan is a teenaged refugee who cannot find footing in his new land. Lynn is Canadian, born and bred.
