Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany (1878-1957) was an Anglo-Irish writer and dramatist, notable for his fantasy work published under the name Lord Dunsany. His works include hundreds of published short stories, as well as successful plays, novels, and essays. In "The Charwoman's Shadow," Dunsany returned to the Spanish milieu and to the light style of his first novel, "Don Rodriguez," to which it is related.
