ABOUT THE BOOK AND AUTHOR
The Call of the Wild was written by Jack London (1876-1916) and was first published in 1903. It is Jack London's most well known work.
Set in the 1890s during the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon in northern Canada, along with some other locations, The Call of the Wild is a tale of survival of a dog named Buck and his transformation from a domesticated dog to one who lives in the wild.
Jack London was a prolific writer of novels, short stories, non-fiction, autobiographical memoirs, plays and more. Some of his most famous works include The Call of the Wild, White Fang, The Sea Wolf, The Iron Heel, Martin Eden and The People of the Abyss.
