Capt. S. P. Meek was the pen name of Sterner St. Paul Meek (April 8, 1894-June 10, 1972). Meek was an early science fiction author before turning his talents to children's books. As a children's author he wrote over 20 books mostly about dogs or horses including the popular "Pat: the Story of a Seeing Eye Dog".
