Ben Owens is at the end of his rope. The trouble between his two sons has reached the boiling point. John, the oldest son knows he will inherit the ranch but he has an aversion to the work. Jed loves the ranch but John doesn't want his younger brother to have it. In an altercation out on the range, John pulled a gun on his brother.
