Eamon McLeod, a veteran of the Viet Nam War, seeks refuge from both his past and present on the Appalachian Trail. During his hike, he reconnects with Jimmy, an Army buddy he has not seen since the war. Not long afterwards, Eamon meets a fellow hiker, Gudrun, a lawyer who is being haunted by an executed rapist and murderer she helped defend. She and Eamon fall in love, but will it be enough to save them from themselves?
