The four stories in this slim volume are uniquely different. "My Father's Purse" is a delightful childhood tribute to the author's father and his purse, which could magically render objects to solve any problem. "Through the Doggie Door" allows us an intimate journey into the mortality of Morgan, a border collie. "Moon Song" is a mythological tale of the resolution of night and day, moon and sun, peace and war-open to interpretation by the reader. And, "The Becoming of Hiram" gives us an unusual insight into the cycle of life from the perspective of a pumpkin.
MaryAnn Williman was a storyteller. It started with her grandchildren. She would sit with them and weave wonderful stories. The characters were given the names of people she knew. Finally, MaryAnn put the stories to paper and made up books for the grandkids. She was in the process of publishing these four stories in 2013 when she died. MaryAnn lived in Medford, Oregon with her husband Otto. She wrote many stories, but this is her first published volume.
