Joseph Gallo and Artie Adler are old friends, so when Joseph's grandson Chris seems to be getting into trouble, Artie tails him. The news isn't good. It looks like Chris is in with the mob. It's bad enough that Chris' dad was killed in a collateral mob hit, but this kind of thing will kill his mother.
