His works appeared regularly in the major pulp magazines of the period, primarily Amazing Stories and Astounding Stories. A practicing mechanical engineer specializing in electrical apparatus for Westinghouse, his stories were full of the super scientific devices and intrepid heroes battling alien forces so popular during this era, but there was also a sense of wonder and excitement at the possibilities of the new world that science and technology could bring. Author Biography

Harl Vincent was the pen name of Harold Vincent Schoepflin, an early American science fiction author. Born in Buffalo, New York on October 19, 1893, he worked as an mechanical engineer for Westinghouse specializing in large electrical apparatus before turning to writing in the late 1920's. His first story was published in Amazing Stories in 1928, and during the next fourteen years more than seventy of his stories were published before he stopped writing in the early 1940's. He resumed writing shortly before his death in the mid 1960's. He died in Los Angeles on May 5, 1968.
