In a world on the brink of war, one man's quest to save a loved one could doom them all.

Bakalor, the demon of the Underworld, is plotting his return-his resurrection nearly complete. With the world on the verge of chaos, he manipulates the leaders of the land into waging war against one another, weakening their defenses and setting the stage for his rise to power. But even as Bakalor moves to claim dominion over the realm, a far greater threat looms on the horizon.

Ergrauth, the demon lord of the Del'Unday, leads a terrifying army of Altered Creatures, bent on seizing the world for himself before Bakalor can strike. As battle lines are drawn, the fate of all life hangs in the balance, and Thorik Dain must step into the fray-if only to stop the war that threatens to tear everything apart.

But Thorik's mission is far more personal than it seems. While the kingdom teeters on the edge of destruction, Thorik's heart is set on a desperate quest of his own: to find an ancient spellbook that holds the key to releasing the soul of his beloved grandmother, Gluic, from the magical prison where she has been trapped.

As Thorik ventures into a mystical, treacherous land to retrieve the book, he discovers that his every move is being watched. Manipulated by those with hidden agendas, Thorik is forced to confront a horrifying truth: his pursuit of Gluic's freedom may be the very thing that brings about the ruin of everything he holds dear. Unbeknownst to him, powerful forces are using him as a pawn in a dangerous game, and the price of his desire could be the lives of those he loves.

In "Essence of Gluic," the battle for the world's future and the fight for one man's soul collide. Thorik must decide whether to stay true to his mission or risk it all to save the people who matter most-even if it means sacrificing everything he holds dear.
