by Richard Kitzman (Author), Addison Herron-Wheeler (Editor)
American. Queer. Two powerful words that evoke a wide range of meaning, historically and presently. The author of this book rescues them from those who have shamelessly warped and weaponized their definitions. The stories in this book follow the course of Richard Kitzman's life as a gay man and chronicle his experience as a writer and an American Queer.
Richard Kitzman is a Colorado native and New York City survivor of the AIDS epidemic. He has been a teacher, HR director, club DJ (Studio 54, the Ballpark and Tracks in Denver), and was a long time contributor to OFM. He is the author of The Little Book on Forgiving (excerpted in Science of Mind Magazine) and was given the John Preston Award for "Lady in the Hatbox" (included in this collection.) Richard is an "OK, Boomer," and since the age of 4, has been living as an American queer.
