Pelon, a young Chicano hotshot lawyer, runs afoul of the malefic head of a government data gathering agency in Washington D.C. and flees to rural Michigan, California and Arizona. He is befriended by several people who add to his understanding of spirituality and help him integrate his gang member past with his new persona.
Antonio Solis Gomez was born in El Paso Texas but moved to East Los Angeles when he was nine. He graduated from East Los Angeles Community College and from Cal State Los Angeles. He worked as a social worker for several nonprofit agencies and was one of the founders of the Chicano literary magazine Con Safos; Reflections of Life in the Barrio. Later he moved to Tucson Arizona and received a Masters in Library Science from the University of Arizona. He worked as a librarian until he retired from the Kellogg Foundation. He now lives in Tucson with his wife Margaret.
