Kelly Christopher finds himself questioning the nature of his own reality as he stares at himself through the recorded security footage of the Halifax Ferry Terminal, where a police officer had just been shot dead. He has no recollection of being there, having been somewhere else entirely at the time of the shooting, yet there is undeniable evidence that he was the one holding the smoking gun.

But from behind iron bars, events quickly start becoming distorted as a shadowy creature makes its presence known, a dark Entity that doesn't seem constrained by the binding laws of nature. Reality begins to gain a different meaning as Kelly and the creature battle across the streets of Halifax. Can time's arrow be warped? Bent? Broken? These are the obscurities Kelly must face as he fights to survive while also trying to clear his name from the atrocities he's been accused of.

A Shadow in Time is truly a gripping tale that forces the reader to question the nature of reality as they follow Kelly through his sporadic odyssey. Gripping, mesmerizing, and marvellously executed, this time-splitting thriller is surely one for the record books.
