Cumie is a happy little-girl cumulus cloud, born of water vapor sent skyward by Mother Earth. She enjoys floating and sightseeing, but becomes worried as she grows older and more sluggish, and learns that she soon will exist no more. However, she realizes that her rain is dearly welcomed by thirsty people, animals and plants, by dry lakes and rivers -- and as Cumie fades from being, she ultimately takes pride in this true purpose of her life.
